TASTE
How may children be able to take informed food choices based on critical thinking? That is one of the main questions the TASTE project seeks to answer.
The goal of the TASTE research project is to let children take informed and well thought out food choices based on critical thinking. Children need to be given space to reflect over their culinary experiences. Taste is a complexe and integrated experience that involves physical, psychological and social dementions, all of whom are equally important.
The primary school subject food and health is central to the TASTE project, both in Norway and Denmark. The methods used in this subject will be problematised. This goes for teaching practices in specialisedrooms inside, as well as in different environments outside. Additionally, the project has a work package with an exploratory approach to meals and food related activities in Norwegian kindergartens. Children must be included in a more critical and reflective process in the pedagogical work in schools and kindergartens.
