Contents and structure

The course has the following main components: basic, experience-based training in performing, listening and creative activities with emphasis on listening, beginner education in music and an introduction to music as a school subject as it is designed for years 5-10 in the current curriculum.

The course will emphasise the creation of good connections between the student's own musical and artistic development and didactic competence in planning, implementation and reflection on music education in years 5-10. The course shall give the student competency in planning and implementing various projects in years 5-10. Music history and disciplinary didactics will be central in the course, with a special focus on the key area of listening.
