Course description for academic year 2026/2027

Contents and structure

The subject provides a specialization in legal methodology and this is applied to business-related areas of law such as maritime law, energy law, family law, civil procedure, and criminal law.

Focus will be on how questions are raised an which legal grounds are to be used to find a proper legal solution.

In each of the business-related areas, there will be detailed regulation and this often has to be interpreted in the context of more general legal rules.

  • Have a thorough understanding of legal method and its application
  • Knowledge of the detailed regulation of certain business-related legal areas
  • Knowledge of the more general legal rules

  • Solve practical legal issues within the topic of the course
  • Answer legal theory questions within the topic of the course

  • Have a conscious relationship with the protection provided by the rules of law in private law contexts
  • Ability to apply both detailed regulation and gereral legal rules

The main emphasis of the teaching consists of lectures and problem solving.

Assessment

Written school exam, 5 hours.

Exams may be held on a digital exam system.

Grade scale A-F, where F is fail.
