Contents and structure
Close cooperation between the collaborative partners is essential to succeed with the sustainable transition. This course has a practical approach to the recycling industry, but is also relevant to adjacent industries.
We will look into how to utilize various digital tools to improve the processes internally and between companies.
Digital tools is a natural part of almost everyone's everyday life at work. The technology is there. The big challenge is is what and how to integrate the new software with our existing IT infrastructure based on the internal strategy, and make sure to have a good prosess for implementation.
This subject provides basic knowledge about process understanding, and how processes are closely related to the company's digital resources,
Processes are the basic building blocks in all organizations, and both process understanding and continuous process improvement constitute the lifeblood of total quality organizations.
A business consists of small and large processes that are interconnected. Everything we do is a process, documented or not. In every area or function of an organization, there are many processes taking place. These processes interact with other processes as the output from one process becomes input to another.
Being able to map up and illustrate a company's processes is crucial before one can make good decisions in witch digital tools one need.

- Understanding the significance of the digital in the ongoing operation of a business and the role of technology development in managing and developing the company
- Better equipped to assist in facilitating the implementation of digital solutions

- Assessment of employees' roles in digitization processes and awareness of the importance of a good implementation process and thorough training

Teaching methods
The course is conducted digitally with both synchronous and asynchronous lectures, including real-time digital sessions, discussions, reflections with fellow students, and self-study.
Compulsory learning activities
The following three mandatory learning activities must be approved for the student to submit the exam:
- Develop a process map of a selected process in the company
- Develop a digital business strategy
- Propose opportunities for efficiency using new digital solutions
The three submissions build on each other, where the student incorporates their own company.
- The activities are valid for three semesters after approval
Assessment
The course has a portfolio assessment as the evaluation method, where the three submissions under Mandatory Learning Activity contribute to 2000 words +/- 10%.
- The portfolio submission counts for 100% of the grade
- Grading scale: pass / fail
- If not passed, an improved version of the portfolio can be submitted for re-examination
