Course description for academic year 2026/2027

Contents and structure

This course covers the management, sharing, and use of knowledge in modern, data-driven supply chains. It provides an introduction to knowledge management, digital collaboration, and the use of analytical tools to support learning and improvement within supply networks. Through practical work in Python, Jupyter Notebooks, and BI tools, students learn to collect, structure, and visualize data as a foundation for knowledge sharing and decision support in supply chain management.

Learning Outcome

Knowledge

Upon completion of the course, the student should be able to:

• Explain key concepts and models in knowledge management, learning organizations, and digitalization.

• Describe how data analysis and BI tools can support knowledge sharing and improvement efforts in supply chains.

• Explain the principles of data governance and decision support in digital organizations.

• Explain how organizational learning and resilience can be strengthened through analysis and knowledge exchange.

• Reflect on ethical and sustainable aspects of using data and digital tools in knowledge management.

Skills

Upon completion of the course, the student should be able to:

• Use Python and BI tools to collect, structure, and visualize data for learning and improvement.

• Conduct basic analysis of knowledge flows and improvement processes in a supply chain.

• Build simple dashboards that highlight patterns, trends, and learning over time.

• Collaborate in teams on digital projects that promote knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

Passed ØAL118 and ØAL121.

Recommended previous knowledge

Prior knowledge in business economics is an advantage.

Teaching methods

Classroom teaching and assignment seminars combined with group work. Group-based guidance as needed.

Compulsory learning activities

  • 1 group-based compulsory work requirement (semester assignment) must be passed before an examination can be taken.
  • 1 group-based oral presentation of the compulsory work requirement (semester assignment) must be passed before an examination can be taken.
  • Mandatory attendance at assignment seminars

Assessment

Written school exam, 4 hours

Grade scale A-F, where F corresponds to fail.
