Course description for academic year 2025/2026

Contents and structure

In the course, you will develop your writing and speaking English skills that are essential for communicating in a professional, business-oriented environment. You will acquire the necessary skills for employing business-specific vocabulary effectively, in tasks such as delivering presentations, composing business reports, contracts and associated documents, and engaging actively during meetings. The course will be a mix of lessons on vocabulary and grammar, interactive activities, discussions, and written exercises.

Learning Outcome

Knowledge:

The candidate will have:

  • Knowledge on vocabulary related to business and communication in a business-oriented environment
  • Knowledge on how to structure and write professional email, formal letters, business reports and other relevant documents
  • Knowledge on strategies for negotiating in English

Skills:

The candidate will be able to:

  • Use basic business English vocabulary effectively
  • Have a basis for preparing business reports, contracts and correspondence in business-oriented English
  • Perform presentations in business-oriented English

General competence:

The candidate:

  • Knows the general structure of formal texts such as contracts and business reports
  • Can carry out discussion about contract negotiations in business-oriented English
  • Can effectively correspond with spoken and written business-oriented English
