Semester programme in Environmental Sciences
The semester programme “Environmental Sciences” resumes where the semester programme “From Mountain to Fjord” ends: Annually collected environmental data from local or regional fjords form the basis for writing a Bachelor Thesis on recent environmental problems.
Teaching semester: Autumn or Spring
The environmental data provide the opportunity to choose a Bachelor Thesis within environmental sciences. In addition, a Science Project offers a methodological approach to manage scientific data. During the spring semester, a course in Climate Change might replace the Science Project.
The course consists of two main modules
Either spring semester:
- ME350 Science project (10 ECTS) or GE483 Climate change (10 ECTS) – elective
- EN491 Bachelor thesis (20 ECTS)
or autumn semester:
- ME350 Science project (10 ECTS)
- EN491 Bachelor thesis (20 ECTS)
Study methods
Practical and theoretical supervision in the field, laboratory, and when writing the Bachelor Thesis. The course in Climate Change consists of ordinary lectures, while the Science Project bases on personal supervision.
The language of instruction is in English.
