Claire is Professor of Evidence-Based Practice at the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences. Claire is also co-director of Cochrane Norway and has a particular interest in systematic reviews of qualitative evidence (also known as qualitative evidence syntheses). She led Cochrane’s first qualitative evidence synthesis and is co-founder of the GRADE-CERQual tool, which is used to assess confidence in findings from these reviews.

Claire has served as technical advisor on a number of World Health Organization guidelines, and has participated in the development of methods to support the inclusion of qualitative evidence in these guidelines. Claire regularly teaches WHO staff about the use of qualitative evidence in guideline processes.

Susan is Associate Professor at the Department of Health and Functioning. Munabi-Babigumira has extensive experience in health systems research including qualitative evidence syntheses, evidence-informed decision-making, and quality improvement. She has contributed to evidence synthesis for global guidelines, supported the adaptation of global evidence to national contexts and is particularly interested in using evidence to strengthen health systems and services for maternal and child health.
