Educated as a psychiatric nurse with a master's degree in nursing science from the University of Bergen and a doctorate from the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences.

I have worked in the fields of substance use and psychiatry for over ten years, undertaking various responsibilities at different levels. Responsible for several externally funded continuing education programs in the field of mental health. Co-developer and Subject coordinator for the Continuing Education in Mental Health and Substance Use Work. Supervise master's theses in the Master's in Mental Health and Substance Abuse Work and the Master's in Social Sciences.

Area of Expertise: Mental Health and Substance Abuse Work. Professional relations.

Scholar from 2020 to 2024 in the END study (Bereaved persons following drug-related deaths). Researching municipal health and welfare services for the bereaved after drug-related deaths, from the perspective of helpers.

 Teaching in: Mental Health and Substance Use Work. Dialectical Relational Understanding.

 Researching: Currently: Self Care in Professional Therapeutic Relationships.

Doctoral Thesis: How do municipal health and welfare services address bereaved individuals after drug-related deaths? What obstructs and what enables support in the acute phase, from the perspective of helpers? How can collaboration around assistance to the bereaved after drug-related deaths be optimised in the interplay between the municipal support system, the bereaved themselves, and volunteer organisations?
