Field of work

I have a background of 16 years teaching in schools, primarily in upper secondary school. I am finishing a PhD in Religious Education/Religious Studies at the University of Bergen. Varied social science and humanities background with bachelor's degrees in political science (NTNU, 2009), religious studies (UiB, 2017), and history (UiB, 2021). Master's degrees in peace and conflict transformation (UiT, 2012) and religious studies/religious education (UiB, 2019). Teacher training with PPU (UiB, 2013), and further education in teaching controversial topics (UiB, 2019) and sexuality education (HiOA, 2017; INN, 2021; OsloMet, 2025-2026).

My doctoral project is about how the right of exemption as we find it in the Education Act §2-3a/§14-6 is practiced in Norwegian schools and how this affects the students, the school, and the communities we have. This is a continuation of the work that was put into the master's thesis in religious studies from 2019.

I am a member of the research groups Educational Law and Research and Teaching on controversial topics. I am chair of the pedagogical committee of the Norwegian Association of Clinical Sexologists and chair of the board of the Norwegian Humanist Association.
