Examination resits

You have three exam attempts for each exam. If you do not withdraw by the deadline and do not show up for the exam, it will count as an attempt.

Information on Registration and Withdrawal for Exams

If you have used all your attempts for an exam without passing, you are entitled to new attempts in the course five years after your last exam attempt, according to regulations on studies and examinations § 4-8 (3). This also applies similarly to attempts in practical training. In case of re-admission, a professional assessment must be made to determine if the student can start at the same level.

Application for a Fourth Exam Attempt

In special cases, a documented application may be granted a fourth attempt, according to the regulations on studies and examinations § 11-5 (3). You should send your application to post@hvl.no.

To take the exam, your student rights must be active. If you need to extend your student rights, please contact a study advisor. You must pay the semester fee in the semester in which you intend to take the exam.
