Project summary

Climate change poses fundamental threats to global health. It contributes to increased morbidityand mortality from a variety of conditions and changes the prevalence and geographicaldistribution of communicable diseases, injuries, and mental health issues. It also negativelyimpacts social determinants of health and access to health and social care services. It hasdisproportionate negative impacts on older people, persons with disabilities, and refugees andmigrants. Addressing these increasingly complex global health challenges requires a welleducatedhealth and social care workforce capable of deploying innovative interprofessional approaches. The IP LINC Project will create opportunities for enhanced international,interprofessional and institutional collaboration between Norway, USA and Brazil related to climate change and health with a focus on marginalized populations. Objectives are:

• Increase student and teacher mobility

• Create learning spaces to address climate and health challenges through connections between professions, stakeholders, and sectors globally and locally

• Enhance interprofessional, cross-cultural, and trans-national learning environments
