Project summary

This project investigates how teachers in Food and Health and Arts and Crafts experience their teaching practices, their room for maneuver, professional community, etc., in the implementation of instruction in these two subjects at the primary school level. The project is part of a qualitative research effort that is based on Goodlad's (1979) conceptual curriculum theory to shed light on the relationship between the intentions of the curriculum and the teachers' practical work. The study is based on the re-analysis of two doctoral dissertations conducted at a total of seven primary schools and draws on documents, interviews with teachers in both subjects, as well as observations of teaching practices across the subject areas
