Health effects of dietary intake of fatty vs lean fish

Project summary

The health beneficial effects of fish oil have been known for a long time. Lately, also fish protein has been found to possess favourable health effects. It is of interest to investigate if intake of lean fish (contains only small amounts of fish oil) results in similar beneficial effect on the fat content and on inflammatory parameters in healthy individuals as compared to intake of fatty fish. This will be investigated in an experiment in which the participants will be served meals containing fatty or lean fish or control meals for several weeks. Blood samples will be collected before and after the experiment.
