Contents

In this course candidates will gain extensive academic competence through aesthetic production and will practise studying and researching aesthetic processes associated with such activities. The course also includes work on relevant and ongoing research projects. 

Course description

The course will focus on the following topics:

·        Aesthetic production and reflection

·        Research methodology analysis and interpretation

·        Practical creative and theoretical specialisation within a musical subject area

·        has broad knowledge of scientific and artistic language use, academic text and genres, use of sources, and citation and reference techniques

·        has in-depth knowledge of different aspects of scientific, artistic and aesthetic argumentation, reflection and theory development

·        has broad knowledge of practical R&D crafts in relation to their own master's work

·        has in-depth knowledge of different aspects of scientific, artistic and aesthetic argumentation, reflection and theory development associated with music as a discipline

·        has broad knowledge of practical R&D crafts in relation to their own master's work

·        is able to analyse and evaluate learning processes within aesthetic production and collaborate with others in such processes

·        is able to communicate extensive independent work and masters the forms of expressions associated with the subject area

·        is able to use relevant working methods to collect data and interpret and analyse such material

·        is able to use relevant working methods to collect data and interpret and analyse such material in music teaching and aesthetic production

·        is able to chart and evaluate research and development issues that have been raised and which should be raised within the relevant areas, such as music in teaching

Teaching methods

Teaching and work forms

The master programme is organized through seminars and eLearning activities. The course includes lectures, supervision, online discussions, online resources and work on portfolio projects. Subject teachers and students will collaborate using the Canvas learning platform. Course requirements will be included in the work on the subject. The course will include teaching practice that meets the practice requirements for the fourth year of the primary and secondary school teacher training programme for students for whom this is relevant.
