Contents and structure

The course is based on two mandatory intensive sessions with associated pre- and post-work. The content is organized in two 

 

  • Teaching, learning and guidance
  • Assessment, learning technology and educational leadership

 

The course provides an introduction to the field of teaching and learning in higher education. For those who take the course to document educational competence, the assignments from here can be used in the folder that will give you the documentation that is reqired.

Learning Outcome

Knowledge:

Know the content and construction for teaching and learning in higher education as a field of science at Høgskulen på Vestlandet.

 

  • Have knowledge of different theoretical perspectives on knowledge, learning and assessment
  • Have knowledge of the basic principle for guiding colleagues and students
  • Have knowledge of factors that can affect the learning environment in higher education
  • Know the possibilities and challenges associated with the use of digital tools in the learning process in higher education

 

Skills:

  • Be able to plan, implement and evaluate your own teaching in line with the qualifications that is reqired.
  • Be able to guide students in their work assignments
  • Be able to assess students' learning

 

General Competence:

  • Have a critical and analytical attitude to planning, implementation and evaluation of your own and others' teaching
  • Have professional and ethical awareness of your own role as a professional educator and part of the university academic and collegial community
