NAB1025 Security-related training for seafarers with designated security duties

Course description for academic year 2021/2022

Contents and structure

The course covers content and regulations in SOLAS XI and the ISPS Code. It contributes to increase the participants' awareness of today's security related issues. We are studying the relevant regulations, development in a historical perspective and relevant issues.

There will be a course fee. Detailed information will be given when announcing the course.

Learning Outcome

- Knowledge:

The student has knowledge of relevant regulations and duties. He/she has knowledge of traditional and modern security issues.    

- Skills:

The student can use the knowledge to identify and follow through necessary actions and considerations related to security related work on board and ashore.    

- General qualifications:

The course covers relevant regulations in STCW Regulation A-VI/6(4) and Table A-VI/6-2.

1 hour multiple choice test.
