Contents and structure

Culture historical elements and ecological processes in the cultural landscape. Management and restoration of cultural landscapes, economic- and legal measures and management principles.

Learning Outcome

Knowledge

The student shall

  • have knowledge about the cultural landscape, semi-natural sites and elements formed through traditional agriculture.
  • have knowledge about ecological processes to estimate proper management for different semi-natural vegetation types formed through traditional agriculture.

Skills

  • The student shall be able to practice different traditional management techniques.

General competence

  • The student shall have an understanding of different questions in this field of expertice.
  • The students shall be able to understand and assess management- and restoration plans for cultural landscapes.

Teaching methods

Lectures, video presentations and excursions

Compulsory learning activities

The student must attend 4-6 compulsory excursions and write an excursion-report which must be approved

Assessment

Written examination under supervision, 4 hours.

Grading: A-F.
