Contents and structure
The course provides an introduction to the field of teaching and learning in higher education and adopts a critically reflective and inquiry-oriented approach.

Learning Outcome
Upon completion of the course, the student shall have achieved the following overall learning outcomes:
Knowledge
The student
- is able to discuss various perspectives on teaching, learning, and assessment in higher education
- is able to apply fundamental principles for supervising colleagues and students
- is able to evaluate and adapt didactic models for the planning, delivery, and evaluation of teaching
- is able to critically reflect on and articulate their own views on learning and knowledge, and how these are expressed in their teaching role.
Skills
The student
- can analyze, plan, implement and assess teaching and supervision, both individually and in collaboration with colleagues, in a relevant way that promotes critical reflection and students' learning and professional development
- can obtain, analyze and use feedback from students and colleagues to systematically develop teaching and learning processes
- can use relevant methods to mentor colleagues in the development of teaching and learning
General competence
The student
- can analyze, prepare and further develop course and program plans within their subject areas
- have a critical and analytical attitude to the planning, implementation and evaluation of their own and colleagues' teaching
- have a professional and ethical attitude towards the further development of the role as a teacher and part of the university's professional and collegial community

Teaching methods
Student active teaching and learning methods such as discussion, group work and peer mentoring, lectures, self-study and online learning methods.
Compulsory learning activities
- Participation in peer mentoring and submission of peer mentoring document
- Physical participation in all seminars
The compulsory learning activities must be approved by set deadlines in order to sit for the exam.
Assessment
Written assignment, 2000 words (+/-10%).
Grading: Pass/Fail.
If the assignment is not passed, it is possible to submit an improved version in the following semester. It is only possible to submit an improved version with the same research question once. After this, a completely new assignment must be written.
