Project summary

“Development in Secondary school is a newly established research group. It is formed on the basis that we are involved in a national program called “Development in Secondary school. The program focus revolves around classroom management and the basic skills of reading, writing and arithmetic. The project also includes work on organizational learning and school-based skills development.
The purposes of the research group are a) to establish an interdisciplinary research environment that supports existing projects, b) to develop new projects within and across disciplines and c) to support and develop research expertise within the group. In this way we hope to gain new and better insight into aspects of classroom-management, organizational learning and the basic skills of reading, writing and mathematics in all subjects. School-based skills development gives us the opportunity to do practice-based research, and enhance research-based teaching. Lower secondary focus is also linked to a national network where we regularly exchange ideas and experiences with other equivalent research environments.
