Course description for academic year 2019/2020

Contents and structure

-

The course further develops the teacher's core tasks in class management and planning and implementation and evaluations of varied forms of teaching.

Academic and vocational didactics in current and historical perspectives are key this semester. Assessments of learning, basic skills and learning strategies are also important.

Learning Outcome

-

Knowledge:

  • Has broad knowledge of vocational subjects, pedagogy and vocational didactics, working methods/tools and processes relevant for professional practice and is able to evaluate the need for HSE measures
  • Is able to view vocational training and professional practice in a historical and cultural perspective  

Skills:

  • Is able to evaluate and document pupils' learning and development, provide learning-oriented feedback and contribute to pupils/apprentices being able to reflect on their own learning
  • Is able to identify and work systematically with basic skills including didactic use of digital tools
  • Is able to apply their professional, pedagogical, didactic and technological knowledge

General competence:

  • Is able to form good relationships with pupils/apprentices and create constructive and inclusive learning environments
  •  Has insight into relevant academic and professional ethical issues and can communicate key subject matter in Norwegian, both verbally and in writing, and through other forms of documentation

Teaching methods

Teaching is group-based and will be given in large and small groups. Guidance and follow-up will be given individually and to some extent in small groups.

Compulsory learning activities

Participation in 5 out of 6 assembly days.

Approved written study requirements.
