Field of work

Hanne Maren Meldahl is an artist, Assistant Professor, and PhD Research Fellow at Western Norway University of Applied Sciences (HVL). Her work spans visual art, participatory art practices, performance, and educational development. Her research is situated at the intersection of arts education, creative practices, materiality, postdigital pedagogy, and artificial intelligence.

Through artistic and practice-based research, she investigates how people, materials, and technologies interact in processes of learning and creative inquiry. As a teacher educator and development partner, she has collaborated with schools and municipalities on professional learning and school development, with a particular focus on participation, aesthetic learning processes, and creative approaches to education.

Meldahl is affiliated with the research groups Culture, Community and Criticism (CCC) and MaTecSus. She is also co-founder of the artist collective WALK OF SHAME and the Radical Utopian Network (RUN).
