Digital written exams

The Western Norway University of Applied Sciences uses digital evaluation in its WISEflow examination system.

You can see in Studentweb whether your exam is digital.

During written school exams based on the use of personal laptop computers, the students themselves are responsible for their equipment and for having downloaded the necessary software to be able to take the exam before arriving at the exam location, cf. Regulations on study and examinations.

You must bring your own charger for your computer. You may bring your own mouse or keyboard if you wish. You can also use simple drawing tablets (without a display).

You can log into WISEflow any time you like, to familiarise yourself with it, and you can take the demo exam as many times as you want. We recommend the latest versions of the Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox or Safari browsers.

Log into WISEflow

Log into HVL Feide

Before taking a written exam, you download a browser that locks your computer into a dedicated browser called FLOWlock.

Important information:

Digital exam in which you use special software

In some digital courses which use different tools and software to those provided by WISEflow, the exam situation may require you to submit a file as the exam paper – the equivalent to what you submit for a home exam. During the school exam, there will be a requirement to enter a password to start the exam, and you will receive this in the exam room.

Device Monitor

Since your computer cannot be locked with the FLOWlock browser when you need to use other tools or software during the exam, you should instead download the WISEflow Device Monitor. The Device Monitor takes screenshots during the exam and ensures that the exam is conducted securely. See more information about the Device Monitor.

Digital Submission of Paper Exams

Some school exams should be written on paper, for example in subjects with a lot of calculations or drawing. You shall submit such paper exams digitally in WISEflow. See more information on how to do this here.

It is important to prepare well before the exam
