About this study programme

Structure

The study program in university pedagogy consists of a mandatory course and several elective modules:

  • Mandatory: Introduction to University Pedagogy (5 credits) is mandatory for all who are admitted to the study program. We offer this both in Norwegian and English in the autumn semester, and only in Norwegian in the spring semester.
  • Elective 1: Subject Didactics Modules (5 credits), available in both Norwegian and English in both semesters.
  • Elective 2: Development Project for University Pedagogy (5 credits), available only in Norwegian in the autumn semester and in both Norwegian and English in the spring semester.
  • Elective 3: Course Design (5 credits), available only in Norwegian in the autumn semester and in both Norwegian and English in the spring semester.

Mandatory introductory course

The introductory course in the basic competence program for employment and promotion to associate professor and professor is offered in English. A new course will run i the autumn of 2025 in the same time as the Norwegian course but in a different classroom. The time for the sessions in 2025 will be in week 38 and week 48. 

All applicants must apply for the course in “Opptak”. We recommend that you contact your manager early in the application process for support.

Elective modules
