Leadership in Educational Systems

This research group focuses on professional change, development and collective learning among educational managers, and professionals in the educational system.

We are interested in broad themes as:  

  • National and international educational discourses  
  • Tensions and cooperation between levels in the educational system  
  • Quality, development, and assessment in educational practice 
  • Leadership and learning in the system  
  • Development and learning in professional communities 
  • Knowledge creation in complex systems 

We are more occupied with leadership in education in a broad sense, rather than educational management. Policy, contexts, systems, and tasks are in focus.  

Research- and developement interests

Our members are active researchers in KINDknow - Kindergarten Knowledge Centre for Systemic Research on Diversity and Sustainable Futures in two of three overarching research themes, theme 2: Systemic leadership and conditions for children in kindergarten and theme 3: Pedagogical innovation and co-creation.

This research group is part of the research program Practice, Professionalism and Policy in Educational Research (PUF)
