I am an anthropologist and nurse, and for many years I have researched the relationship between culture, health promoting behaviour and health systems in different countries in Europe and elsewhere. For the past 15 years, my research has primarily been focused on health services for the elderly, both in a national and an international comparative perspective.

I am specialized in the fields of grief and bereavement, and my research is focused on family members bereaved by drug-related death, particularly parents. My aim is to bring forth new knowledge about what it is like to lose a close family member to drugs, and how to improve the life situations of this group of bereaved persons.

My research is focused upon how to avoid redundancy in research. This includes meta-research – that is, research on research, development of methods to perform research and more. Furthermore, my research also includes research related to rehabilitation in general and specifically for patients with knee or hip osteoarthritis. My often-used methods are systematic reviews, scoping reviews and overview of reviews.
