With a Bachelor's in Tourism, Marketing & Management, you will gain a broad platform into the worklife, and the varied content allows you to choose from many different types of jobs. This Bachelor's is Norway's first and only of its kind with a full semester of work integrated learning (Internship) that you can take either locally, nationally, or abroad.
A Bachelor's in Tourism, Marketing & Management will enable you to create the sustainable tourism of the future that delights communities, guests, residents, and employees. You will learn to develop innovative solutions and business ideas that promote environmental, social, and economic sustainability. Through interdisciplinary collaboration and a full semester of work integrated learning (Internship), you will gain valuable insights into working life.
With this Bachelor's degree, you can start your own business or manage regional and international companies such as accommodation, catering, transport, museums, activity companies, and attractions. You will also be qualified for key positions in marketing, sales, and management and can work exclusively with that. A semester with an Internship provides you with new networks and job opportunities. You can work as a professional, advisor, middle manager, or manager, for example, as a marketing manager, in both public and private organizations.

Knowledge
The candidate has/can:
- broad knowledge of central topics, theories, issues, processes, tools, and methods within the field of tourism, marketing and management, and the establishment and administration of tourism businesses.
- broad knowledge in research and development work within the service and tourism industry.
- broad knowledge of the history, traditions, uniqueness, and place of tourism in society.
- broad knowledge of the development, operation, and administration of core industries such as accommodation, catering, transport, and attractions in tourism, and especially about nature- and culture-based experiences, attractions, and events.
- broad knowledge and tools within service and responsible innovation, holistic and green destination development, theme- and niche-based tourism, experience economy and storytelling, events and the ripple effects of events, administration, operation, and practice related to tourism businesses.
- broad knowledge of social responsibility and sustainable development of tourism enterprises and destinations.
- broad knowledge of international management and cultural diversity.
- broad knowledge of marketing. Various tools, methods, and techniques related to practical marketing.
- basic theory in the distribution of tourism products (packaging), business economics, statistics, methodology, business law or spatial planning, organizational theory, and personnel management.
- familiarity with research and development work within the field of tourism.
- use broad and updated knowledge of relevant theories and methods.
- broad knowledge of decisions at the micro level within private and public organizations aimed at coordinating the use of scarce resources to achieve the organization's goals.

Content
The Bachelor's program in Tourism, Marketing, and Management is a three-year program that awards a Bachelor's degree in Tourism, Marketing, and Management. The program is worth 180 ECTS credits.
The education consists of courses in tourism, marketing, international management, and economics, as well as work integrated learning. The program aims to provide students with a broad competence platform to work within tourism, marketing, or management, as professionals or advisors in the private sector, public sector, or other organizations. Students should be able to work as managers.
More specifically, the education can qualify students to manage or market businesses within transport, accommodation, attractions, activity companies, museums, and other experience-based businesses.
The program is closely linked to the industry, both nationally and internationally.
In the third semester, students can choose between a study abroad period at an approved university/college or follow the mandatory courses in the semester. In the fourth semester, the program includes work integrated learning/internship for the entire semester, which can be completed locally, nationally, or abroad.
The study plan is revised once a year, with reservations for changes in both the sequence of courses and the course offerings.
Practice
There is preparation for practical training with practice-related work in the university in RE6-2013 Introduction to Practice in the Tourism Industry. Furthermore, there are 22.5 ECTS credits with work integrated learning/internship in the workplace, either in public or private organizations.
Teaching
The teaching methods offer lectures, seminars, working groups, exercises, assignments and case work. Problem-based learning with an emphasis on tasks that are current and relevant is central to the study program.
In the course, emphasis is placed on teaching the students to work independently both with individual work and group work. A large element of self-study is necessary. In order to follow lessons and take exams in the course, students must have their own laptop with standard software. The study program also includes work integrated learning in the entire fourth semester.

Required progression
Students must have earned at least 100 study points when they start 5. semester and in order to write their bachelor thesis in 6. semester.
Students must have passed OR6-1005 in 5th semester before they can start with OR6-1008 and RE6-2004 in 6th semester.
Internationalization
You may study a semester abroad, preferably 3rd semester. Courses must be approved in advance.
