Arbeids- og kompetanseområde
Jeg er utdannet biokjemiker fra Universitetet, med doktorgrad innen helseeffekter av fettsyrer og proteiner fra kosten. Jeg begynte å arbeide ved høgskolen i 2008, og har siden da hatt mat og kosthold blant barn som forskningsfelt. Jeg har vært innvolvert i flere forskningsprosjekter der vi har studert implementering av retningslinjer for mat og måltid i barnehagen, implementering av sjømat i skolen, og mat og måltid i SFO og videregående skole. Et nylig avsluttet prosjekt er det nordiske prosjektet ProMeal (forskere fra Sverige, Island, Finland og Norge), der jeg ledet den norske delen av prosjektet. Prosjektet så på sammenheng mellom skolemat og læring, skolemåltidets betydning for det totale matinntaket i løpet av en dag, og barns oppfatninger av skolemåltidet. Jeg er tilknyttet BARNkunne (KINDknow), Senter for barnehageforskning, og leder arbeidspakke 5, Mat og måltider i barnehagen. Fra høsten 2023 starter vi opp prosjektet TASTE, som omfatter barns smakskompetanse i barnehage og skole, der jeg vil lede arbeidspakken om barnehage.
