This qualitative case study will investigate the lived experiences of older women having experienced various forms of physical, psychological and social abuse and neglect. The study aims to explore older women, living in Punjab and KPK regions, own life narratives to shed light on the impact of abuse, on women's copings strategies and on their need for support. Various data collection methods will be combined, such as in-depth interviews, group discussions and observation. Purposeful and convenience sampling will be used to select informants (6-15) residing in shelter homes or in their home communities. For the analysis, elements from thematic, narrative, and constant comparative analysis will be used. The project will shed light on the consequences, support needs and prevention of age- and gender-based violence that is an important social issue in Pakistan, with a special focus on older women's experiences and perspectives.
