The conference will take place at the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences, Campus Bergen. The conference is open to teachers, students, researchers and others with an interest in evidence-based approach to teaching and evidence-based practice. The conference will discuss the possibilities and challenges of applying an evidence-based approach to teaching. To be evidence-based simply means to include the best available scientific knowledge in all decisions. Whenever teachers are selecting their topics and their pedagogical approach, the present scientific knowledge should be part of the decision-making process. Such an approach can be challenging, and many questions need to be discussed further, such as
- What does it really mean to be evidence-based when planning, carrying out and evaluating teaching?
- Is an evidence-based approach relevant at all educational levels and for all topics?
- How can we best teach teachers how to use an evidence-based approach to teaching?
Abstract submission
The conference welcome abstracts concerning topics with relevance for evidence-approach to teaching, including teaching evidence-based practice (EBP).
This is an opportunity to share experiences, insights, methodologies, or strategies related to evidence-based approaches to teaching or teaching EBP.
- Abstracts must be in English.
- Abstracts should be no longer than 5.000 characters, cannot include tables and figures.
- Abstracts should be structured with the following subheadings: background, aims, methods, results, limits, conclusions.
- All author(s) must approve submitting this work for presentation.
Deadline for submission: March 27, 2023, to
Ishanka M.W.R Mudiyanselage (Ishanka.M.W.R.Mudiyanselage@hvl.no). Four abstracts will be selected for oral presentation between 11.00-12.00 at the conference. The other accepted abstracts will be presented as posters during the conference.
Answers regarding acceptance or rejection will be sent out no later than April 14, 2023.
