Arbeids- og kompetanseområde
After completing his PhD in Co-location of Offshore Wind and Tidal Stream Turbines from the University of Manchester, UK, David is now a Research Fellow here at the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences (HVL). His work involves co-ordinating research projects in the MarinLab wave/towing tank, working with both industry and research partners as well as with bachelor/master student projects. His own research extends that developed during his PhD, focussing on marine renewable energy devices, with lab-scale testing in MarinLab to validate numerical modelling of hydrodynamic interactions. David also teaches on the joint HVL/UiB masters course in Marine Technology, for the module HTEK101 Introduction to the Marine Environment.
