Nature, particularly animals, is a clear signal in the traditional song repertoire for children in Norway, not unlike children’s literature in general. In this study, a collected material of songs for children is analysed both verbally and musically in the light of ecocriticism. The aim of the study is to illustrate how songs for children can contribute in educating children for eco citizenship.
