Economic sustainability in Norwegian ECEC: material encounters, ‘retrovation’, and professionals’ tacit knowledge

This seminar will present results from the ongoing project Understanding responsible economic sustainability in Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC), hosted at BARNkunne – senter for barnehageforskning.

The session will cover:

• Project overview. Research questions, methods, data collection, and key findings.
• Paper 1. Scoping review: responsibility in early childhood education for sustainability.
• Paper 2. Professionals’ views on economic sustainability in kindergartens: lessons from Norway for ECEC leaders
• Paper 3. Does it matter what we call it? Early childhood education for sustainability as tacit knowledge.
• Paper 4. “We are building a car!” Retrovation at the interface of early childhood education for sustainability and the ethics of care.
