Arbeids- og kompetanseområde

I completed my PhD at SOAS, University of London in 2015. A political sociologist, I am interested in historical and anthropological debates about war and political violence, the state, religion, law, identity formation, and social inequalities. I joined the Department of Pedagogy, Religion and Social Studies at HVL in 2020 where i teach the study of religion, philosophy and ethics (religion, livssyn og etikk) and supervise students working across a range of disciplinary fields, including pedagogy, history, sociology, religion, and philosophy.

I have conducted research in Afghanistan, Pakistan, UK, Norway, and Turkey. My research has been funded by grants from the Research Council of Norway, US Institute of Peace, Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Chr. Michelsen Institute, World Bank, Asian Development Bank and UNDP.
