Cancels physical teaching in Bergen

HVL cancels all planned physical teaching activities at the Bergen campus and asks all employees in Bergen who can to work from home. This applies for the next ten days, based on Bergen municipality's new corona measures.

“We are part of the effort that the City Council of Bergen is now implementing. We must work together to avoid a major outbreak in Bergen”, says rector Berit Rokne.

“Campus Bergen will still be open, but we cancel all planned physical teaching activities on campus in Bergen for the next ten days. This applies from Wednesday 9 September to Friday 18 September”.

“As far as possible, digital teaching will be facilitated. An exception is skills training and simulation on campus for some study programmes, for example for health and social studies students. This teaching will be carried out as normal, but requirements for face masks will be introduced”.

The corona measures will also have consequences for some of the students who have planned placement in weeks 37 and 38. Further clarification of this will be given to the students in Canvas.

“Campus Bergen is still open, to take care of students who have difficult study conditions at home. For those who will be staying on campus, it is absolutely crucial that the infection control rules are followed”, rector Berit Rokne points out.

With regard to employees, the crisis and emergency management at HVL has decided that all employees at the Bergen campus who have the opportunity to do so will work from home during these ten days.

The rector also says that employees at HVL are asked to limit their business travel activity, including those between campuses, to what is considered absolutely necessary.
